Barbie Doll'd Up Virtual Nail Art - Free at iTunes
There's an awesome app for the iPhone for the Nail Artist in us all. You may have heard about the pricey "toy" that was all the rage and hard to find last Christmas, the Barbie Doll'd Up Nail Printer. That baby is about $400 and you can sync it to your computer to design cute nails and then print that design straight on to your nails. There are tons of designs included that are largely Barbie themed, but you can also use your own photos, or frankly any non-copyrighted content on the web and print it on your nails! I never bought one, but I really want one anyway. I can't help it.
In the meantime there is an awesome, and FREE app in the App Store that you can download and have all the fun of creating the nail designs; you just can't print them out. It's fun in itself, especially if you love nail art, but if you do have the Barbie printer you can perhaps plot out your designs first, save them, and then make them with your Barbie printer at a later time. I've got some screenshots for you after the jump!
This is part of the main info screen.
Here's the naked nail. From here you can choose a base pattern or color if you choose, and you can add extra decal-like designs over the top. You can use your fingers to stretch and shrink the designs to fit, or make some patterns larger or smaller. You can save and share every design you make as well.
You can "Shake It" to generate a random design.
You can put a picture of your kid! lol
Some of the designs are so adorable, it really makes me want that printer even more, which means that this app is probably fulfilling it's purpose!
What do you think of the app? Do you have the printer? If you do tell me about it, I want to know if I need it!
