So would you say this swatch is how it looks in real life? I'm not criticizing you, but like you, I too have to justify a purchase. I've previously purchased Mint Candy Apple and Van d Go based on online swatches and they came out slightly different from my expectations (and were unflattering as well). So that experience has put me off Essie, but I do really like this color and I think I could settle for this instead opting for Chanel Khaki Vert.

this looks a lot more green out of the bottle. I passed on it at Ulta but I am going to have ot go back at get it!

Allmaroon, this is how it looks on me in bright light. In natural light it's a bit more grey and the shimmer doesn't show. I hope this makes sense. I do notice that sometimes polishes don't look on me like they do others, sometimes it's that they're impossible to photograph perfectly accurately, and other times it's a difference in skintone that makes them appear different. Either way this is a really unique and awesome color and it's probably worth picking up. If it were closer to midtone I'd probably say it's more hit and miss and you'd have a bigger chance of not liking it, but it's a bit darker than midtone so it would work for anyone who's light, medium or dark. The color looks awesome against a beige or olive tone skin. I think pink-based skintones might not like it though
