Nubar Finest Silks Collection - $49.95 for the set, $7.95 a la carte at bynubar.com

The polishes in Nubar's latest collection, Finest Silks, are inspired by and named after several luxurious fabrics. All are cremes but Organza which is a light and airy white-silver that you can wear over the other shades if you wish, or alone. You'll notice that there are only 7 swatches here because I don't have Taffeta to review, so if you're looking for that I know there are other blogs with great swatches of it, so check them out first if you're interested in buying Taffeta. As far as the rest of the collection, there are some pretty nice shades in it and they're all very creamy and pigmented.

Organza - This is the only non-creme in the collection. It's a light and airy white-silver hybrid that looks almost opaque when the sun hits it and then in low lighting it's very sheer. It's a pretty interesting shade and it looks really good alone, in my opinion. I wish I'd have had this before the wedding because I would have worn it. That was my first thought when I first applied this... Damn, where were you a week ago? Anyway, you could also apply this over other shades and it would probably give you a pretty nifty look. Yes it's sheer, yes you can get some brush strokes even if you're really careful, but it's so delicate and pretty that I really do like it. **** 4 stars

Charmeuse - is a browned pinky-nude. This was in the slot where Taffeta should have been as well as in it's own spot and I think that it would probably be easy to confuse them in some lights. Taffeta seems to be a brown with peach-orange whereas this is the pink-nude version. This was a bit of a surprise to me; I thought it would look really bad and Granny-ish on but it's pretty neat. It's that brown and pink mixture that scares me but it's got enough of a dusky quality and it's a bit darker than midtone so it makes it a little edgy. It still may not float your boat but I thought it was pretty nice on my skin. It's very ladylike and as far as application goes, just like all the others in this collection it applies perfectly in two coats and isn't streaky in the least. **** 4 stars

Marabout - I can't help but assume it's supposed to be Marabou, because Marabout means something completely different that has nothing to do with textiles. That aside, this is my favorite of the collection. It's a dark taupe with a little bit of a purple tendency. It's the same depth as OPI You Don't Know Jacques but replace YDKJ's yellow with purple and you have Marabout. Perfect application and a rich finish make this a great pick from this collection. ***** 5 stars

Pekin - I don't know what (a) Pekin is but there's a lot I don't know, lol. This polish is a slightly deep and pretty much true red. It's a creme finish but it's got a little bit of a jelly to it so it's not as creamy as the rest. You don't find a lot of "true red cremes" without a bit of jelly because too much creaminess seems to dilute or taint the color. This is just in my experience of course, but it's something I've noticed. Pekin applies beautifully and because of the slight jelly texture it's super glossy. It is just another red, though, so unless you're in the market for a particular red this probably isn't going to excite you much even though it's a pretty solid choice for a red. **** 4 stars

Chiffon - This is another taupe like Marabout, but it is a little bit lighter and has a little more yellow/green/brown in the undertones. This would be a better choice for a warm-toned person because even though it's more neutral than warm, it's just going to work better than Marabout if you've got warmer skin. It has perfect two-coat application and is very creamy. There are a lot of taupes out there and I have and love a metric ton of them, but since I am such a fan of Nubar's creme formula, this will be one I reach for often when I want to wear taupe. ***** 5 stars

Moire - This is such a weird color... but I like it! It's another one you'd think was a Granny Special in the bottle but on the nail it's really interesting. It's basically like an opaque creamy nude with some pink thrown in. It was nearly a mannequin-hand polish for me, but it's a bit darker and rosier than my skin. It's like futuristic/modern granny or something. It's like your granny wears Chanel suits and drives an Aston-Martin. Well, it all makes sense in my head. I do like this one a lot, more than I thought I would, at any rate. It was the biggest surprise in this collection for me because it's just so "off," "weird," and pretty. ***** 5 stars

Sateen - Is a darker sort of blood red. It's got a bit of brown and slightly deeper than midtone red. Again, it's got a bit of jelly to it so it applies really nicely and has great shine to it. I'm not the world's biggest red polish fan, so I'm probably not the person to ask if it's groundbreaking or anything, but it seems pretty standard to me,  but as I said before the Nubar creme formula is pretty fantastic. **** 4 stars

Here are a couple intra-collection comparisons:
