Project: Swatch is back after a couple weeks hiatus. Sorry I haven't had more time to keep up, but while it may not be EVERY week, I promise to try to keep up with Swatch Friday a couple times a month! This week the focus is on some of my favorite blues, so
OPI DS Fantasy - This isn't straight-up holo, but it has some holo-ey tendencies. The main qualities here are opacity and depth. Wow, it's like a gorgeous clear night sky.
Another gorgeous Designer Series OPI. Glamour is a sheer cornflower blue with strong holo shimmer. This one needs three coats or to be layered in my opinion but it's so amazingly gorgeous!
China Glaze 2NITE is a sky-blue with a very strong holo shimmer. There's no real base shade, the whole polish is basically made up of some sort of small particles that make this finish. Craziness.
What? Did you you think they'd all be holos? Well, there are so many blues I love of all different finishes, so here's a great shimmer one: Desi 413. It is very similar to China Glaze Frostbite but a bit thinner and lighter. This one was a gift from a very special person, so it always ends up in my top blues.
Essie Mesmerize is a perfect true cobalt blue. It screams "nautical" to me, and it applies gorgeously in two coats.
China Glaze Frostbite is a vibrant medium blue shimmer with a light flash. It's got a bit of a strange smell to it, not bad, just very distinctive. The shade is just as distinctive as it's smell, There's not another polish just like it.
Revlon Mystical - I'm not sure everyone would call this blue because of the purple base, but because of the strong blue shimmer I keep it in my blue drawer. This is an oldie but a goodie but I love it so. You may be able to find this on ebay, not sure.
Another Revlon oldie that is beyond amazing. Tidal Wave might be available online somewhere but Color Club Emerald Depths is quite similar. This is a super vibrant turquoise shimmer with golden undertones.
One of my favorite dark blues, OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue, is a deep sapphire with green and turquoise shimmer. Wet n Wild Blue Moon is similar, but this will always have a special place in my heart.
China Glaze Up All night is a satiny deep sapphire with delicate shimmer. It's perfection.
This photo is of China Glaze Drinkin My Blues Away. I've layered it here over Up All Night as it's quite sheer alone. The blue and pink glass fleck shimmer are beautiful and the layering really brings it out.
Finger Paints Surf's Up - This was part of a long-gone FInger Paints Summer collection I can't remember but it's one of my very very favorites. It's a beautiful clear-toned blue with big shimmer. It looks like sun glistening off waves!
China Glaze Dorothy Who - wow I lusted for this for years until it was re-released. It's got a gorgeous blue jelly base and tons and tons of silver glitter that shines through when light hits it. It's truly beautiful.
China Glaze Blue Sparrow - So I think this is supposed to be classified as a neon, but it's a bright blue with lots of blue glitter that dries matte. A quick coat of topcoat makes this a contender for one of my very tippy-top blues.
Tell me about your favorite blue polishes!!
