Rimmel Steel Grey isn't really grey, but it IS gorgeous. I found this at my local CVS for $3.99, but I've also seen it at Walgreen's. Originally I decided against this polish as I do have my fair share of taupe polishes; but this one really called out to me as soon as I actually picked it up and looked. It seems like the perfect taupe to me, neither too light nor too dark, not too purple, or grey, or brown, and it's cheap! I actually held the bottle up to Sally Hansen Commander-In-Chic at the store and they looked identical (though who knows how differently they dry on the nail...) but since the SH was $7.99 this baby went home with me. I hesitated for just a moment before I purchased this because I have already tried one polish from this line, Marine Blue, and though I loved that color, the brush and formula were a nightmare for me. Think of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dry brushes; the fat, blunt brush with slightly curved edges and plenty of fraying. The formula is somewhat similar to the Insta-Dry polishes as well, being slightly thick, a bit streaky, and overall unwieldy. I feel like I'm applying grape jelly with a popsicle stick with these. That being said, I really love this shade and while application was a bit annoying, I think this is among my favorites in the taupe category. Is it sick that I'm still interested in Commander-In-Chic as soon as I see it on sale? Probably.
Please excuse the state of the finish and of my cuticles, this is after several days of wear.

I love that color! I have China Glaze's Channelesque which, in comparisons I've seen, looks nearly identical to Steel Grey.
