Shades by Barielle Slate of Affairs - $8 at barielle.com
Another gorgeous shade from the All Lacquered Up collaboration, Slate of Affairs is a medium denim blue with a sky blue sheen. The formula is the sheerest of the five polishes I'm reviewing, but it gives it a lot of depth, in my opinion. I used three coats here, and topped it off with Seche Vite though the finish was quite glossy alone. It applied beautifully, I'm loving the way these go on the nail. The bottle is no-frills and utilitarian, but minimalistic and lovely. Barielle has a B2G1Free deal going now, so check it out!

CONGRATULATIONS TO MAQUILLAGETALK, SHE'S THE WINNER OF THIS PERRICONE GIVEAWAY!! WINNER HAS BEEN CONTACTED VIA TWITTER.
Perricone MD Cosmeceuticals is giving one Beautopia reader the chance to win a Concentrated Restorative Treatment valued at $100! I am so excited for this giveaway. This cream is an anti-aging night treatment and it contains Vitamin C Ester and DMAE, which has been known to be called "face lift in a jar" by some people. I've never tried anything containing it myself, so I can't vouch for it personally, but given the reputation Perricone products have in the beauty blogosphere, it seems like an interesting product to give a try. So do you want to win it? I know you do! Here's how you can enter:
1) You MUST leave a comment under this post telling us why you need/want this product, and why you think it would be a great product for you. Your reasons will have no impact on whether or not you win, we're just interested in seeing what you have to say.
2) You can get an extra crack at winning, by tweeting "@BeautopiaBlog Giveaway! Win @PerriconeMD Concentrated Restorative Treatment ($100 Value!) http://bit.ly/b1wVCm ". This will count as an extra entry. If you tweet only, without leaving a comment in this post it won't count. To make sure I see your twitter entry, please leave a note in your comment that you tweeted for the extra entry.
3) If you've got a blog, you can post about this giveaway (and use the photo if you wish) to tell your readers about it. Please just leave a comment here with the link.

Wow, Essie has a new matte topcoat out... that already existed. It's a different name and may very well be a different product, but I think another matte topcoat besides Matte About You might be (read: totally is) a little redundant.
Denim (and now beauty) favorite Rock & Republic has apparently teamed up with Essie for a totally weird denim promotion. Now you can have matte nails to go with your gross, stained black jeans. I'm not a fashionista and have never claimed to be but I think this is weird. I suppose that it's all about personal expression and one woman's road-salt-caked jeans is another woman's blue nail polish. I love Matte About You, it's awesome, so if you're a R&R fan, and this turns out to be the same product, why not go for it? What do you guys think of this? I DO want the tshirt though, OMG how cute with the little nail polish in the "pocket"?!

OPI has a new free iPhone app in the App Store that includes hundreds of OPIs Classic colors and a large handful of limited edition and special-collection colors. You can scroll through all the shades available to see what appeals to you, and you can even change the skintone of the model hand to see which colors will flatter your particular skintone.
Right now there are no representations for glitter, or shimmer finishes, but OPI says they're coming soon. In the meantime, the only difference in finish you will see are between regular, matte, and suede finishes.

As you can see, Matte looks shinier than Suede, which is weird if you ask me. Click to see more pics and read the rest of OPI Nail Polish iPhone App

Index to pinkie these are: Barielle U-Concrete-Me, Pure Ice Kiss Me Here, China Glaze Recycle, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Wet Cement
Barielle U-Concrete-Me - This and the Pure Ice are about the same depth but is more blue-toned than any of the others. Three coats are perfect coverage and glossy even without a topcoat.
Pure Ice Kiss Me Here - This is a slightly-deeper-than-midtone grey that is quite neutral. It's slightly less pigmented than the Barielle and the Sally Hansen. It's a great inexpensive grey!
China Glaze Recycle - Recycle is midtoned and sort of on the warm side when put up next to these other shades. I think it's quite flattering for all skintones and might be the great choice for a warm-toned person.
Sally Hansen Wet Cement - This is obviously quite a bit lighter than any of the other shades, it's also pretty neutral in tone, neither too cool nor too warm.
