I've had a lot of fun over the last few weeks with clients. A lot of them are really embracing more adventurous nails, and while I still do my most obnoxious and involved stuff on myself, I'm slowly seeing a lot of my clients venture towards that end of the spectrum and I'm so excited. Below I'll show you six clients' nails and tell you what I used.
I'm not sure how I neglected to post these up when I did them about a month ago, but here they are. I did an animal print mix using only polishes from the China Glaze On Safari collection. I did a mixture of leopard, giraffe and some colorblocking for this look.

OK so I am now watermarking my photos because 1) it's incredibly stupid for me not to have been doing so for all this time, and 2) I'm seeing my nails randomly popping up on my tumblr feed without credit to me and they're getting crazy amounts of hits and I feel like I'd like people to know they're my nails. Call me crazy, but... Anyway so I'm sorry about the watermark, I personally think they take away from the quality of the photos, but they're unfortunately very necessary anymore.
Well my first week of Nail Tech school is over, hence the lack of posting this week, and I'm pooped. I'm off on Sundays and Mondays so I'm looking forward to resting the next day or so. It's been incredibly fun so far, but I'm still tired. I'm looking forward to really getting used to my new schedule.
Because I'm now a beauty student, I can officially go into CosmoProf and I just feel like jumping for joy because of that. I've never even been in one, and for the last few years, every time I saw a CosmoProf I'd look at the door as if it were my nemesis and knew somewhere in my mind that one day I'd be walking through it, legit, with my own license. Well, right now it's just my student permit, but it's no less exciting. I went in today and got a ton of China Glaze polishes I'd been wanting including some Halloween ones! (!!!) and OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle which I wanted for the name but it's actually really pretty, too. I also got some hair stuff and I seriously want to go back ASAP for more. I could have stayed there all day... le sigh.
Anyway, this is my manicure right now. I used Essie Knockout Pout, Color Club Twiggie and Wet n Wild White On to colorblock the nails and then applied dots of contrasting color on each block and then made it into leopard with a Migi Nail Art Pen. It's topped with a coat of Seche Vite.
I mixed up my last manicure with a little bit of leopard. On the blue nails remaining from the last mani, I used China Glaze Shower Together and an Art Deco striping polish for the zebra. On the other nails I used a base of Sephora by OPI Don't Feed the Hand Models. On the fingers with blue half-leopard, I used China Glaze Shower together and Migi Nail Art pen in black, and the full leopard nails are just the Migi Nail Art pen in black. I thought the nude and blue combination was super cute, and the leopard and zebra worked well together.
This is my current manicure and it's basically a complete ripoff of this manicure by Wah Nails. I loved it so much, and I knew as soon as I saw it, I had to try it. it's genius! The "cutout" of leopard is so awesome, and the contrast of light creamy blue with neon orange is amazing. I used Orly Snowcone and a Migi nail art pen for the leopard and the tips are Color Club Amp'd Up. I don't know what shades Wah used, but it looked pretty similar to me.
Today is my birthday and I wanted to do something really obnoxious and bright and I think I have succeeded. HA! Four of the nails are inspired by the new Sephora Electric Safari Collection. I bought one of the cosmetics cases and the bobby pins and I loved the mix of camo and leopard on a clear bag. So i used China Glaze Millenium as a base for all fingers but the ring finger and then put different colors on each nail. For the thumb, I used MAC Dry Martini and OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, for the pointer I used China Glaze Shower Together and For Audrey, for the middle I used NARS Schiap and Nubar Pink Cream, and for the pinkie, i used China Glaze Agent Lavender and Color Club Puccilicious. I did a loose camo design with a dotting tool and those shades and then I used a black Migi nail art pen to do the leopard. On the ring finger I used Nubar Pink Cream, OPI WTSAY?, China Glaze Shower Together and Color Club Puccilicious to do a stripe of each vertically and then did leopard the same way. What do you guys think of the Sephora Electric Safari Collection? How about camo and leopard together?! I think it's awesome!
Hey everyone! I know it's been such a long time and you're probably tired of hearing these things from bloggers coming back from an unexpected hiatus that lasts months, but there it is. I know that while I've been gone, people have still been visiting and I really hope that the content amassed over the last couple years has been helpful. Even though my immediate plans for the blog are to resume posting, it probably won't be daily like before. Not yet, anyway. I really miss sharing my thoughts and pictures with you guys and the contact we used to have. I love hearing from everyone, and I miss it. I've still been reading tons of nail blogs on a regular basis, so I've been able to maintain a small link to the nail blogosphere, but I'm ready to take an active part again. I hope that you guys will join me, and stop in and see me from time to time:)
Hey guys, before I talk about this manicure I wanted to put up a little note about the blog sale: with the exception of three packages that I have to send tomorrow, all packages should be out. If you haven't received your package yet and want to contact me for the status of your package, please do so. Between the zillion emails back and forth I've got for this sale and the crazy busy post office and my mind-numbing list of things to do before Christmas, I want to make sure I'm not forgetting anything.
On to the manicure... I hear you through the computer. You are probably bored of bright multi-colored manicures, let alone leopard here on this site, but I did this manicure earlier in the week and it's all I've got to share right now since I've been so busy lately. I used several of my favorite bright colors that I use often to do this multi mani.
