Tie-Dye Nail Art with CND Shellac
Did a new manicure for Kelsey today using CND Shellac in Rock Royalty and CND Additives. Sorry for infrequent posting recently. I'll be posting several more of my more recent manicures within the next few days, but probably with just a blurb about the products. If you have any questions about the look, feel free to message or tweet me!

Prismadness Nail Art

I was in the mood for rainbow nails, but rainbows with some oomph. I sat down with four bright polishes and this just sort of happened. There's no real inspiration or idea behind it, I just started painting. The best things (and the most obnoxious, apparently) seem to happen when you start without a plan. I wouldn't suggest it in other parts of your life, like choosing a career for instance, but with paint, it's no big deal. Art is cool. Yeah.

Products used:

  • China Glaze White on White
  • China Glaze Purple Panic
  • Color Club Explosive
  • OPI Did It On Em
  • Finger Paints Blue Raspberry Taffy
  • Wnw Black Creme
  • Seche Retain (as base coat)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

Finger Paints Special Effects in Twisted

One of five new flaky beauties from Finger Paints' new collection for Winter, Twisted is a bottle of awesome. There are flakies of every color in this clear base, making it the Queen of Flakies in this girl's humble opinion. There are a number of great flake-filled polishes out there, with more to come, I'm sure, but until now to get such a rainbow-tastic look, you'd have to layer several different polishes to get this much fabulous on a nail. I applied two coats of Twisted over a plain black creme in these photos. I also took a few photos of this look mattified with Essie Matte About You which I've included in this post. It looks insanely beautiful either way, and whethere you're in the sun or in indirect light, these are traffic accident worthy nails. Each of the five polishes retail at $4.99 at Sally Beauty Supply and are on the shelves at some locations now. I've got a couple more to show you later in the week. They are AWESOME.

OK so I am now watermarking my photos because 1) it's incredibly stupid for me not to have been doing so for all this time, and 2) I'm seeing my nails randomly popping up on my tumblr feed without credit to me and they're getting crazy amounts of hits and I feel like I'd like people to know they're my nails. Call me crazy, but... Anyway so I'm sorry about the watermark, I personally think they take away from the quality of the photos, but they're unfortunately very necessary anymore.

Read on for more pics and a sad nail story... :(

My Birthday Nails - Bright Camo, Leopard, and Rainbow!

Today is my birthday and I wanted to do something really obnoxious and bright and I think I have succeeded. HA! Four of the nails are inspired by the new Sephora Electric Safari Collection. I bought one of the cosmetics cases and the bobby pins and I loved the mix of camo and leopard on a clear bag. So i used China Glaze Millenium as a base for all fingers but the ring finger and then put different colors on each nail. For the thumb, I used MAC Dry Martini and OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, for the pointer I used China Glaze Shower Together and For Audrey, for the middle I used NARS Schiap and Nubar Pink Cream, and for the pinkie, i used China Glaze Agent Lavender and Color Club Puccilicious. I did a loose camo design with a dotting tool and those shades and then I used a black Migi nail art pen to do the leopard. On the ring finger I used Nubar Pink Cream, OPI WTSAY?, China Glaze Shower Together and Color Club Puccilicious to do a stripe of each vertically and then did leopard the same way. What do you guys think of the Sephora Electric Safari Collection? How about camo and leopard together?! I think it's awesome!
