Revlon Galaxy Top Coat - $4 at drugstores
Revlon has a new nail display out with a few cremes and matching glitter topcoats. I picked up two of the glitters, and the first is Galaxy. It's a clear base with blue and silver specks of glitter and then larger hexagonal holographic pieces. In the bottle it was so awesome and unique, but once I got it on I felt that I probably could have re-created the look with a China Glaze glitter like Shooting Star or Techno. However, I don't own a lot of Revlon because they don't make that many stunning shades in my opinion, and it's sort of cool that they're doing glitter. I also purchased Slipper from this collection which is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to share. For now though, my opinion is that if you don't have a similar glitter, try it out. It's a lot more sparse than you'd think by looking at the bottle, but it's still pretty with two coats over another polish. Another thing to keep in mind is that the smaller glitter lays down more easily on the nail, you have to keep on passing over the nail to lay down the larger glitter. In other brands like China Glaze or Lippmann I really don't have this problem. For the price it's a fun polish, and I would recommend picking up at least one of these just to have in your stash o' polish for a day when you want to spruce up an existing manicure.

Project: Swatch is back after a couple weeks hiatus. Sorry I haven't had more time to keep up, but while it may not be EVERY week, I promise to try to keep up with Swatch Friday a couple times a month! This week the focus is on some of my favorite blues, so click to see some swatches of beautiful blue polishes from China Glaze, OPI, and more.

Revlon's Luxurious Color Eye Shadows are a newer addition to their line of shadows. First came the Mattes, and then those were followed with Perle and Satin. The Perle's are obviously the most shimmery of the three choices and they seem to have just the right amount of shimmer for me. I'm a fan of the Matte shadows as well, but it's nice to see a drugstore brand coming out with some decent shimmers. Nude Slip was talked about on one of my favorite blogs; Nouveau Cheap; she was pretty positive on these and then she mentioned recently that one of her readers spotted them at Walgreen's for $3 of the retail price, making them $1.99!
The packaging is pretty simple and utilitarian, but not chintzy, which is a plus. Even at full price you're getting a lot in the package, and if you can get them on sale, it's even more of a steal. The texture is fine and not chalky at all, though it also doesn't crumble like the buttery shadows we all seem to love, like Stila and LORAC. They are pigmented, but not overwhelmingly so, making them easy to blend, and the shimmer is not over-the-top, but are quite glimmery.
